London Property for Sale with Local Drug Dealers Living Nearby
A decent sized lounge, stunning garden and…handy local drug dealers just around the corner
When you are browsing property to either buy or rent, what sort of features do you look for in the local area? Good schools? Decent transport links? Reliable drug dealers nearby?
This may seem like something of a bad joke, thought up by a sniggering youth with his tracksuit bottoms tucked into his socks, but this was actually a feature of a property listed for sale in Croydon on the property portal, Zoopla.
The listing invited offers in the region of £320,000 for the period terraced property located in Crowthing Street, and advertised a through lounge, a garden – and “local drug dealers close by.”
As reported in the Evening Standard, the advert claimed that the house was being sold by Harrison Sellars estate agents, based in Croydon.
The advert has now been removed and was revealed as simply being something of a bizarre joke. It has since emerged that Crowthing Street does not actually exist, and the postcode which was included in the listing is for another house, on the similarly named Crowther Road, in South Norwood.
It has emerged that the estate agents mentioned in the advert, Harrison Sellars, is run by estranged husband and wife Garth and Angela Harrison.
Mr Harrison told the Evening Standard that he operates one-half of the business that is completely separate from the estate agency, which is run by his wife.
He added that he had no idea about the listings, and claimed to be a “bit bewildered” – but then added that he can certainly “see the funny side”.
