A remote 19th Century Napoleonic fort off the Pembrokeshire coast in the UK has come onto the market for offer over £550,000 . This fort was originally built between 1852 and 1854 as one of three sea defences to protect Pembroke Dock from the French and was a hotel in the 1980s and 90s.

The fort was designed with a fearsome artillery battery of five RBL 7in Armstrong heavy guns and four 68-pounder cannons that were placed on parapets around the fort.

Thorne Island this fort has not been lived in for more than 15 years and has fallen into disrepair. This grade II-listed fort includes 10 bedrooms, three reception rooms, three bathrooms, two bars, games room, a sauna and a large courtyard all located on a 2.5 acre (1 hectare) site.
